The Seal Cove Auto Museum is teaming up with the SPCA of Hancock County for an Adopt-A-Thon at the museum in Seal Cove on Sunday, June 16 (Father’s Day) from 9:30 to 1p.m. The SPCA will have dogs and cats for adoption there that day, and the museum has something for adoption too – the special cars in its nationally renowned collection of Brass Era automobiles. We will have Laura Cohen representing Acadia National Park’s “Bark Ranger” program, Whitney Thurston from Salty Dogs Obedience and Adventures, and Leslie Tibbits with a booth on Dog Agility training and competition.  There will be a food vendor and outdoor car demonstrations, weather permitting.

Anyone who adopts an animal that day will get:

  • a free pet bandana from the museum
  • an individual membership to the museum
  • two free tickets to the museum’s Murder Mystery Dinner on July 28

Anyone who adopts an auto that day will get:

  • two free tickets to the SPCA’s Wine and Whiskers event on July 24
  • a Holsman Membership to the museum (includes a family membership, four guest passes, reciprocal admission to participating museums)
  • a private curator-led tour of the museum for up to nine people
  • a photograph of you and your family in your adopted auto

Adoption fees are:

  • Puppies up to 6 months, $300
  • Dogs 6 months and older, $150
  • Kittens, $150 each or $225 a pair
  • Cats 6 months and older, $90
  • Barn cats, $15
  • AntiqueAutos, $500 each

We’re planning a fun morning to help two good causes; join us at the museum for food, fun and the fine feelings that come from doing good.
