Community Growth and Engagement Lead

Seal Cove Auto Museum | Seal Cove, Maine

Reports to: Executive Director
Schedule: Full-time preferred; part-time considered for the right fit
Start date: Flexible

About the Role

The Seal Cove Auto Museum is looking for a creative, organized, people-loving professional to help grow support for one of Maine’s most distinctive cultural treasures. The Community Growth & Engagement Lead will connect donors, sponsors, members, visitors, and online audiences with the Museum’s mission, stories, events, and future plans.

This is a flexible, hands-on role for someone who enjoys both strategy and getting things done. You might be writing a donor note in the morning, planning a sponsor follow-up after lunch, drafting an e-newsletter in the afternoon, and helping welcome guests at a special event that evening.

What You’ll Do

  • Help build and carry out fundraising plans that support annual needs, special projects, and long-term growth.
  • Work with the Executive Director, Board, and Development Committee to identify opportunities and keep fundraising efforts moving.
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, and community partners.
  • Manage donor records, gift acknowledgments, follow-up notes, and stewardship communications.
  • Research grant opportunities and assist with proposals, reports, and funding records.
  • Plan and support fundraising events, including logistics, outreach, guest experience, and follow-up.
  • Create lively, mission-centered content for social media, e-newsletters, donor updates, and public outreach.
  • Track fundraising progress, organize materials, and keep development projects on schedule.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in fundraising, nonprofit work, communications, events, marketing, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing, organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
  • Comfort using donor databases, spreadsheets, social media tools, and email marketing platforms.
  • A friendly, proactive style and the ability to manage several projects at once.
  • Interest in museums, history, community, education, or quirky old cars is a plus.
