About the Collection

The Seal Cove Auto Museum is home to a world-class collection of early Brass Era cars. Tucked away in a metal building on a back road of Mount Desert Island, Maine, these automobiles represent the technology, design aesthetic, and lifestyle of the years between 1895-1917.

Richard Paine, a passionate car collector, spent a lifetime buying and selling automobiles, and building this extraordinary collection. He established the non-profit Seal Cove Auto Museum to provide a place to keep and display these vehicles. The collection is open to the public May through October.
