1928 Ford Model A Huckster

We’d love for you to share your completed coloring page with us – post it on our Facebook page, or send an email to jenna@sealcoveautomuseum.org.

For the final coloring page in our series, we chose the very lovable 1928 Ford Model A Huckster.

Great for Hauling: The Model A converted to a Huckster was great for transporting wares, such as produce or fresh catch.

Loves to Teach: This Huckster has taught many folks the joys of driving a Model A.

Local: Owned by Harry Owen for years and lived at Stone Barn on Crooked Road in Bar Harbor. Rumor is Owen drove to local campgrounds and sold veggies out of the back!

Not only do we want you to color this Huckster to your heart’s content, we want you to draw something in the back. Show us what you’re haulin’! Download the coloring page here.

1914 Stanley Mountain Wagon

The 1914 Stanley Mountain Wagon, one of the four Stanley Steamers on display at Seal Cove.

Built by a Mainer:  Freelan Stanley, born in Kingfield, not only built this car, but also the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, which is famously known for being the inspiration for Stephen King’s “The Shining” (another Mainer!). He and his twin brother Francis built the fastest steam cars on the market.

Seats a Dozen: Freelan wanted to transport more people from the train station to his hotel, so he built this car to meet that need. Was this the first hotel shuttle bus?

Requires Patience: Can’t exactly jump in her, turn a key, and take off.  It can take up to an hour to get her fired up!

Our Mountain Wagon is bright red. Download this coloring page to get your own Mountain Wagon and customize its color!

  1912 Crane

Our 1912 Crane – the latest (and fanciest?) coloring book page!

Pricey: In 1912, the Crane was one of the most expensive cars sold in the US – its price tag was $15,000 (in 2020 dollars, that’s about half a million)!

Great Provenance: This elegant automobile was originally owned by socialite Helen Hartley Jenkins, one of the wealthiest women in the US.

Running Strong: In summer 2019, we fired up the Crane and drove around some of Jenkins’s descendants.
