The Wendell Gilley Museum and Seal Cove Auto Museum are teaming up for a unique event. Master carver Steve Valleau will teach an introductory carving class during which participants will learn to carve a falcon hood ornament, based on creation of Rene Lalique.

Rene Lalique was a French glass designer from the turn of the last century known for his creations of glass art, perfume bottles, vases, jewelry, chandeliers, clocks, and automobile hood ornaments. His “Faucon” hood ornament will the be model for this workshop.

All the necessary materials and tools will be provided. New and novice carvers can join this introductory class. $35 for Wendell Gilley Museum members or Seal Cove Auto Museum members; $40 for non-members. Limited spaces, advance registration required.
